Staying at the legendary, air conditioned Al’s Place Bike Hostel tonight, located on the 2nd floor of the old City Jail. (See next posting for video). Late start today from Pilot Knob and the heat index (aka “feels like“) is 105 degrees. Already been to Trans Am Cyclery for a tuneup. Planning on a nice dinner and a very early start tomorrow for a fifty mile ride to cross the Mississippi River into Illinois.
