Badger Encounter

This morning, pre-dawn, right outside of Scott City, Kansas, I saw an animal cross the road in front of me. When I got up to it, I noticed it was a badger. When it saw me, it turned toward me, crouched down, and hissed. That was the first time I saw a badger in the wild. (Image attached NOT from this encounter)
