Left Kansas today and crossed into MissourI, which is known for many steep climbs and dogs. Only minor dog issues so far, but the long, steep hills have begun. So far, I really don’t mind the climbs, but it is still early into Missouri, and I have yet to get to the Ozark Mountains. The toughest element has been persistent headwinds but I understand that is supposed to subside as I get into this portion.

I arrived to Ash Grove after a tough 70 mile ride. Jennifer at City Hall was very kind and got me a key to the ash grove city park Hostel. A little while later, dot watcher Mike Davis showed up at the Hostel to give me my metal, see attached photo. He Manufactured these at the metal shop where he works, and gave them to as many racers that he could. It is truly a special gift and I am deeply grateful. As well, his wife Wendy was instrumental in connecting Mike and I and she has been an angel. See attached photo gallery please.
