I awoke at 4 AM, and was on the road by 5 AM to conquer a major climb before the heat of the day set in. This 28 mile ride got me into Cambridge, Idaho at 9 AM, where I had a reservation to stay at Cambridge House bed and Breakfast. Now obviously 9 AM is very early to check in but the very kind proprietor, Sheila, said I could go ahead and check in but also suggested I might keep going to the next town and would happily cancel my reservation. I asked her if there was a good place to get breakfast in town and she said no, but she was serving breakfast to the guests who stayed the previous night and offered breakfast to me, it was amazing! I had juice, coffee, waffles with Homemade pear compote, eggs with potatoes, and sausage. Thank you, Sheila! You are very kind, generous, thoughtful, and a great cook! I really needed it because the next 48 miles were hot, windy, and mostly uphill. Today, I am resting in New Meadows, Idaho, and planning to set out tomorrow for White Bird.
